Job summary

Ribbons & Reeves is seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant for a PRU in Lewisham on a temp-to-perm basis. With just 7 pupils per class and subject-specific teaching, this role offers a structured, supportive environment.

You will work with experienced teachers to support pupils across a range of subjects, focusing on SEMH and behavioural needs, building positive relationships, and helping students re-engage with education.

Qualifications

• Experienced working with children or young people
• Patient, calm and consistent
• Confident managing challenging behaviour
• Able to support across multiple subjects

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across a range of subject-specific lessons
• Provide one-to-one and small-group learning support
• Help pupils remain focused and ready to learn
• Support SEMH, behavioural and learning needs
• Build positive relationships while maintaining boundaries
• Assist teachers with differentiated activities
• Support emotional regulation and confidence
• Encourage independence and resilience
• Work with teaching, pastoral and SEN teams
