Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Student Engagement Mentor for a specialist SEMH secondary school in Tameside. You’ll help students re-engage with learning, build genuine relationships and become a trusted adult in the school day.

You’ll work alongside teachers and pastoral staff, provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring, support attendance and motivation, and help students recognise their strengths and future aspirations.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEMH, SEN, youth work, education, or related settings.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Positive, patient and emotionally resilient.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one mentoring and small-group sessions.
• Support students to re-engage with learning and manage emotions.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and professionals to provide consistent support.
