Job summary

Forest Moor School in Menwith Hill near Harrogate seeks an inspirational Classroom Teacher to deliver a nurture-based SEMH curriculum to KS2–KS4 pupils. You will lead curriculum delivery in a specialist setting, building relationships within a multi-disciplinary team and creating individual learning plans to support reintegration.

Applicants should have QTS/QTLS and experience with SEMH needs; English knowledge is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Qualifications: QTS / QTLS essential.
• Experience: Proven experience developing and monitoring learning and behaviour programmes for young people with specific support needs; English knowledge a bonus.
• Knowledge: Understanding of social inclusion approaches, SEN/SEMH legislation and barriers facing at-risk youths.
• Core Skills: Excellent communication, teamwork, versatility, creativity and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Nurture-based classroom environment based on safety and well-being principles.
• Deliver a thematic curriculum tailored to SEMH pupils, with potential qualifications up to GCSE.
• Baseline assess pupils with SENCO to develop Pupil Profiles and individual plans.
• Act as cohort tutor, supervise staff and liaise with senior managers and care teams.
