Job summary

Prospero Teaching is working with a specialist SEMH provision in Wakefield that supports pupils with SEMH needs. This SEMH Teacher role is full-time and long-term, ASAP start, paying £160-£230 per day (dependent on experience).

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, support emotional regulation and behaviour, monitor progress, and collaborate with staff and external professionals in a nurturing, structured environment.

Qualifications

  • QTS, QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour.
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.

SEMH Teacher - Wakefield

Area: Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Start Date: ASAP. Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term. Rate: £160 - £230 per day (dependent on experience). Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm.

About the School

We are working with a specialist provision in Wakefield that supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a nurturing and structured environment where students are encouraged to develop both academically and personally.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated SEMH Teacher to make a real difference while working alongside a supportive and experienced team.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Experience working with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour.
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills.
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
  • Experience in a specialist or alternative provision setting is desirable.
Eligibility
  • Hold QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child DBS on the update service, or be willing to apply for one.
  • Provide two professional child‑related references.
