Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEMH Support Mentor to join a specialist setting in Salford this September. You will support students with SEMH needs, including anxiety and behavioural challenges, to help them engage in learning and daily school life.

The role offers full-time hours with competitive weekly pay, ongoing CPD training, and support from a dedicated education consultant. A pathway to a permanent position may arise in the future.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Build strong, positive relationships with students.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring and support.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management.
  • Encourage engagement in lessons and school activities.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and support plans.
  • Promote confidence, resilience, and social skills.
  • Assist with de-escalation and restorative approaches when required.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and families.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress, wellbeing, and behaviour.

Are you passionate about supporting young people who need guidance, encouragement, and someone to believe in them?

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEMH Support Mentor to join a specialist setting in Salford this September. You will support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including anxiety, ADHD, trauma, attachment difficulties, emotional dysregulation, low self-esteem, and behavioural challenges that can impact both learning and daily school life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring and support.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management.
  • Encourage engagement in lessons and school activities.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and support plans.
  • Promote confidence, resilience, and social skills.
  • Assist with de-escalation and restorative approaches when required.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and families.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress, wellbeing, and behaviour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
