Job summary

Fresh Futures is seeking an enthusiastic Learner and Behaviour Support Worker to join our team at Brian Jackson College in Huddersfield. You will work directly with pupils aged 13-16, including those with EHCPs, to support learning and social development in a SEMH provision.

The role focuses on implementing behavioural strategies, promoting wellbeing, and helping students build life skills. Experience with SEMH, safeguarding, and working in education is essential; driving license desirable.

Qualifications

Experience within SEMH and behavioural needs setting.
Experience working with KS3 & KS4 in an educational setting (formal or non-formal).
GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English (essential).
Experience safeguarding children in education.
Knowledge of EHCPs (essential).
Positive handling training (desirable).
Driving licence desirable and willing to travel between provisions.
Solid understanding of nurture and the college's ethos.

Responsibilities

Assist with SEMH needs with guidance from the Nurture Manager and Inclusion Manager.
Contribute to successful lessons by supporting tutors.
Encourage pupil engagement and promote positive behaviour.
Support pupils during offsite visits and vocational activities.
Promote independence and life skills through student-led activities.
Assist development and review of behaviour support plans.
Work with staff to manage behaviour during lessons and breaks.
Report safeguarding and health and safety concerns promptly.
Complete pupil documentation and records.
