Job summary

Principal Education is seeking resilient educators to work as Behaviour Mentors and Learning Support Assistants in SEMH schools and PRUs across Newham and East London. You will support pupils with social, emotional, and academic needs through 1:1 or small-group work.

Roles are full-time, Monday to Friday, with immediate starts or from October half term. Long-term placements may lead to permanent contracts, with consistent support from a dedicated consultant in your borough.

Qualifications

• As required, the candidate must have the right to work in the UK and be able to support pupils with SEN and behavioural challenges.
• Demonstrated patience, empathy, composure and diligence.
• Ability to set boundaries calmly and maintain consistency.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work across multiple schools and boroughs.
• DBS Update Service (enhanced) or willingness to apply for one.
• Overseas police clearance if you have lived abroad in the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support inside classrooms and in mentoring roles.
• Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to support pupil progress.
• Roles are full-time, Monday to Friday, with immediate or Oct half-term starts.
