Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting a Specialist Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant for a full-time, temporary role in Hythe. You will support primary students with SEMH and complex needs, delivering 1:1 and small-group learning to access lessons and achieve targets.

The role requires resilience, empathy and strong safeguarding awareness, with enhanced DBS and opportunities for professional development provided by the school and agency.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEMH or other SEND needs.
• Ability to support 1:1 and small groups in accessing learning.
• Understanding trauma-related and SEMH needs.
• Excellent communication with students, staff and parents.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality practices.
• Enhanced DBS check (support available if required).

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a Social, Emotional and Mental Health Specialist Teaching Assistant who has experience with those with Autism, SEMH and challenging behaviour to join an Ofsted Rated “Good” school in Hythe. This rewarding role involves supporting students with additional needs both 1:1 or with 2 children maximum, helping them to access learning and achieve their full potential.”

• Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality practices.
• Enhanced DBS check (support available if required).
