Job summary

Aspire People is seeking experienced Behaviour Mentors to support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs across schools, alternative provisions and specialist settings in Salford. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, mentoring and targeted interventions to re-engage learners.

The ideal candidate will have experience in AP/PRUs or SEMH settings, calmly handling challenging situations and building positive relationships, with a resilient and adaptable approach to education.

Qualifications

• Experience in alternative provision, PRUs or specialist settings.
• Professional experience supporting pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and consistently.
• Strong understanding of behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Resilient, patient and adaptable approach.
• Ability to establish clear boundaries while building positive relationships.
• Previous 1:1 support experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Help pupils re-engage with learning and education.
• Manage and de-escalate challenging situations.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils.
• Deliver mentoring and targeted interventions.
• Support pupils during lessons, transitions and unstructured periods.
• Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals.
