Job summary

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged pupil in Billinge who has SEMH, ASC, ADHD and challenging behaviour.

You will provide tailored 1:1 support, build trusting relationships, support academic progress, implement behaviour strategies, help develop emotional regulation and social skills, and work with staff to meet the pupil's needs in a full-time, term-time role with immediate start.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, ASC, ADHD or behavioural needs.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a primary-aged pupil with SEMH needs.
• Build a positive, trusting, and consistent relationship with the student.
• Support the pupil's academic progress through personalised learning activities.
• Implement behaviour support strategies to encourage engagement and positive behaviour.
• Help the student develop emotional regulation, communication and social skills.
• Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback on academic and behavioural development.

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged pupil in the Billinge area who has been unable to access mainstream education due to a range of additional needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and challenging behaviour.

This rewarding role involves providing tailored support to help the pupil re-engage with learning, develop social and emotional skills, and achieve positive outcomes within a supportive educational environment.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a primary-aged pupil with SEMH needs.
• Build a positive, trusting, and consistent relationship with the student.
• Support the pupil's academic progress through personalised learning activities.
• Implement behaviour support strategies to encourage engagement and positive behaviour.
• Help the student develop emotional regulation, communication, and social skills.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, ASC, ADHD, or behavioural needs.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
