Job Title: Security Vetting Officer

Our client, an Aerospace and Defence supplier, is seeking a Security Vetting Officer for an initial 6-month contract at their site in Cheltenham.

Important

Due to the nature of the role, only sole British nationals eligible for SC Clearance will be considered. The position will be predominantly onsite in Cheltenham.

Responsibilities

1. Manage effective security controls within the company, including policy development, risk assessment, and security processes.
2. Implement and oversee National Security Vetting processes within the company and subordinate organizations.
3. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and government standards regarding personnel security.
4. Coordinate visits and inspections by government or contracting authority representatives, maintaining necessary documentation.
5. Interpret, implement, and monitor security controls for NSV staff, including executing SC clearance processes.
6. Ensure senior management understands and fulfills their security obligations and manages security risks effectively.
7. Maintain a security aspects letter register.
8. Maintain and monitor a security Risk Register.
9. Lead the Security Working Group supporting security initiatives.
10. Coordinate with internal departments and external security officials on security matters.
11. Advise management on security controls related to contractual, legislative, or regulatory requirements.
12. Prepare and implement security instructions, collaborating with HR and IT to embed security in policies.
13. Ensure all policies are accessible and understood by employees, updating as necessary.
14. Manage security briefings and de-briefings for SC and DV cleared staff traveling abroad.
15. Arrange security education and awareness training for staff, covering threats and security actions.

Reporting Line: This role manages the Security Vetting Officer position.
