Job summary

Ceaton Security Services is seeking a Security Systems Engineer to install, commission and support a range of security systems across customer sites in Cardiff and surrounding areas.

This hands-on role offers professional autonomy within a family-run team, with on-going development and opportunities to broaden skills into other areas of the business.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience installing and commissioning security systems.
• Broad experience across CCTV, Intruder and Access Control systems.
• Confident working independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to complete and pass full security vetting.

Responsibilities

• Installing, commissioning and testing CCTV (IP & Analogue), Intruder Detection and Access Control systems.
• Delivering first-rate service on customer sites with professionalism and care.
• Participating in the on-call rota.
• Supporting occasional maintenance, fault finding, repairs and servicing.
• Working collaboratively with the Security Manager, Service Manager and wider operational teams.
• Developing knowledge in other areas, including fire systems.

Hours: 08:30 17:00, Monday to Friday

Location: Cardiff and surrounding areas

Contract type: Permanent

Your next role

This is a hands‑on, varied role where you'll install, commission and support a range of security systems across customer sites. You'll work closely with clients, make a real impact through high‑quality technical delivery, and have opportunities to broaden your skills into other areas of the business. As part of a supportive, family‑run team, you'll enjoy professional autonomy, trust, and ongoing development.

What you will be doing

• Installing, commissioning and testing CCTV (IP & Analogue), Intruder Detection and Access Control systems.
• Delivering first‑rate service on customer sites with professionalism and care.
• Participating in the on‑call rota.
• Supporting occasional maintenance, fault finding, repairs and servicing.
• Working collaboratively with the Security Manager, Service Manager and wider operational teams.
• Developing knowledge in other areas, including fire systems.

A typical week might include: A mix of installation projects, commissioning new systems, attending customer sites, resolving technical issues, and contributing to wider team activities.
