Job summary

The University of Cambridge Security Section is seeking a Security Supervisor to help run day-to-day security operations and supervise the University Patrollers. This permanent role is on a 40-hour week, with a shift pattern that includes nights and weekends and on-call duties.

A full, clean driving licence is essential and you will engage in incident response across the estate. Successful candidates will support leadership, maintain service standards, and contribute to training and performance

Qualifications

• Proven experience within the security industry or another comparable profession.
• The ability to lead, motivate and support colleagues.
• Good technical knowledge of security systems.
• A relevant security qualification.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing operational demands.
• Possession of a full, clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Security Management Team with day‑to‑day security operations.
• supervise the Security Control Centre and University Patrollers.
• Provide leadership during security incidents and ensure proper escalation.
• Work a 24/7 shift pattern, including nights and weekends, with on-call duties.
