Job summary

Mitie Group plc. in Nottingham is seeking a Security Supervisor to lead a team on a high-profile site, protecting people and assets and ensuring adherence to Assignment Instructions.

The role requires an in-date SIA licence (CCTV), strong English communication, and reliable IT skills. You will drive training, monitor performance, and maintain security records, reporting to the Security Manager and Facilities Manager.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a security supervisory role, or demonstrable experience of leading a team.
• A valid, in-date SIA licence, including CCTV.
• Strong literacy, communication and interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal English.
• Good IT skills, with confidence using computer systems and standard software applications.
• Reliability, self-motivation and the ability to use initiative while working with minimal supervision.
• The ability to solve problems, make sound decisions and prioritise effectively.
• The ability to motivate others and promote high standards across the team.
• Tact, diplomacy and confidence when dealing with people at all levels.

Responsibilities

• To oversee and be responsible for the day-to-day operation of Security on site.
• Act as the first point of contact for the Security team, ensuring standards of appearance, conduct, discipline and performance are maintained.
• Support ongoing training and ensure all new Security Officers are fully inducted in site procedures and policies, including CCTV, access control, deliveries and removals, fire alarms and intruder alarm processes.
• Be familiar with or willing to learn the Security Merlin patrol and reporting system used within the business.
• Develop effective teamwork within the workforce, ensuring high morale through effective motivational methods.
• Support the review of Security Officer performance and development.
• Report to the Security Manager and on-site Facilities Manager.
• Assist with security and equipment-related investigations, including thefts, missing items, complaints and incident reporting.
• Provide professional customer and client liaison as required to meet operational and client expectations.
• Ensure Assignment Instructions are always adhered to by security personnel.
• Ensure that communication is proactive, appropriate and clear within the team.
• Ensure security records and facilities-related checks are completed accurately and kept up to date.
• Ensure the Security team remains compliant with all relevant data protection legislation and company procedures.

Job description

Location: Nottingham city Centre

Working hours: Mon to Fri 7.30am to 5.30pm.

Job Overview

• Lead a team of Security Officers on a demanding, high-profile site, ensuring the protection of the client's property, people and assets in accordance with the site's Assignment Instructions and any subsequent updates.
• Deliver a professional security service that meets or exceeds agreed Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements, supporting the ongoing retention and success of the contract.
