Job summary

Bowdon Associates Limited in Manchester is seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to drive new business in the security sector. You will hunt for new customers, build active spend across our product basket, and present compelling proposals.

This is a field-based role with UK travel, up to two nights away per week, and a competitive salary of £38,000–£52,000 plus car allowance. Strong B2B sales and security/PPE knowledge are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' proven experience in new business development or a lead-generation sales role.
• Experience selling into utilities, telecoms or defence markets.
• Security and/or PPE sector knowledge is desirable.
• Experience with a security products manufacturer / distributor.
• Understanding of physical security products such as access control.
• Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel and stay overnight.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential customers and maintain a targeted sales pipeline.
• Understand customer requirements and competitive environment.
• Produce tailored quotations, proposals and presentations.
• Use market knowledge to provide detailed information and compelling proposals.
• Negotiate sales and contractual terms with customers and suppliers.
• Regularly update company systems with prospecting activity and outcomes.
• Travel to appointments across the UK, with up to two nights away per week.
• Represent the company at customer and industry events to build contacts.
