Job summary

Charterhouse is seeking a Security Patrol Officer to join a team responsible for maintaining security and a safe environment for Charterhouse in Godalming, Surrey.

You will provide uniformed high visibility security in vehicles and on foot, monitor CCTV/ANPR, manage barriers and alarms, and respond to incidents including night patrols on a 2/2/4 rota. A full driving licence and IT literacy are required, with benefits including pension and health plans.

Qualifications

• Hold a full driving licence and be prepared to use vehicle; insurance will be provided and mileage paid.
• IT literacy and skilled in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide uniformed high visibility security both in the vehicle and on foot.
• Policing school grounds and re-checking buildings for fire and security integrity.
• Attending Fire Alarm activations and assisting with drills.
• Stopping and checking of unknown persons/vehicles or pupils 24/7; Pupils after 2200h.
• Carrying out traffic duties/traffic management including signage of school events.
• Providing regular high profile mobile patrols.
• Use of CCTV /ANPR systems for investigations.

• Door faults including swipe/biometric faults
• Dealing with calls, emails, and texts and following issues through to resolution
• Completion of PNB (Pocket Notebook) for recording incidents
• Holiday checks for leaks/damage
• Assisting with sorting/delivery of pupil parcels during holidays

• Respond, assess, and escape incidents when necessary
• Confidentially deal with emergency calls

Security Patrol Officer

Location: Godalming, Surrey

Salary: £31,884 per annum

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full Time (45 hours per week)

Charterhouse is seeking a Security Patrol Officer to be part of team which is responsible for maintaining security and a safe environment for Charterhouse.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility will be to protect people in the community followed by the protection of buildings and property by:

• Providing uniformed high visibility security both in the vehicle and on foot
• Internal policing of school grounds which hold approximately 90 buildings. As well as lock up, buildings are re-checked for fire and security integrity.
• Attending Fire Alarm activations, and assisting with various fire drills
• Stopping and checking of unknown persons/vehicles or pupils 24/7. Pupils after 2200h.
• Carrying out traffic duties/traffic management including signage of school events
• Providing regular high profile mobile patrols.
• Use of CCTV /ANPR systems for investigations
• Barrier Management
• Door faults including swipe/biometric faults
• Dealing with calls, emails, and texts and following any issues through to resolution
• Completion of PNB (Pocket Notebook) for the recording of incidents, plus any additional actions and communication taken
• During periods of holiday and bad weather, checking of buildings for leaks/damage
• Assisting with the sorting and delivery of pupil parcels during holiday periods
• To carry out night patrol (Lone working - communication equipment will be provided).
• To be able to respond, assess, and escape incidents when necessary
• To confidentially deal with emergency calls of all descriptions.

Working Arrangements

This job involves working an average 45 hours per week on a 2/2/4 rota ie two days, two nights and four rest days. The shifts are 12 hours duration. You may be required to work outside of normal rota to enhance cover during events such as Last night of Quarters (terms), Triathlon, Carthusian Day and Leavers Ball.
