Job summary

Charterhouse is seeking a Security Patrol Officer to maintain a safe environment across school grounds and facilities in Godalming. The role involves high-visibility patrols, access control, and rapid response to incidents, including fire drills and emergencies.

The post requires a full driving licence, IT literacy (MS Office), and a dedicated, calm, and discreet professional. Shifts average 45 hours/week on a 2/2/4 rota, with some overnight duties and event cover.

Qualifications

• Reliable with time-keeping and punctuality during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide uniformed high visibility security in vehicle and on foot.
• Policing of school grounds with checks for fire and security integrity.
• Respond to fire alarm activations and assist with drills.
• Manage access of unknown persons/vehicles 24/7, including pupils after 2200h.
• Manage traffic and signage for school events.
• Conduct regular mobile patrols and CCTV/ANPR use for investigations.
• Handle barrier and door fault issues and incident reporting.
• Record incidents in Pocket Notebook and communicate actions taken.
• Assist with building checks during holidays and weather events.
