Job summary

Impact Security is seeking a Security Officer to cover a shopping centre in Leicester on a temporary 3-6 month contract. The role involves maintaining a safe environment, monitoring access, and providing information to staff and visitors.

You must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor/Security Guarding Licence, have right to work in the UK, and be fluent in English. Driving licence is desirable. The shift patterns vary, with day and night slots, and approx. 50 hours per week.

Qualifications

• A valid SIA licence (Door Supervisor/Security Guarding) is essential.
• Driving licence is preferred.
• Right to work in the UK is required.
• Five-year checkable employment history or documentary evidence thereof.
• Be reliable and trustworthy; demonstrate good customer service.

Responsibilities

• Increase site security by maintaining a constant presence across the facility.
• Monitor alarms and test security equipment; prevent unlawful access.
• Control staff, visitor and contractor access in line with procedures and health & safety rules.
• Record hazards and unsafe practices; report incidents promptly.
• Apply legal restraints when necessary and in a professional manner.
• Complete daily reports of accidents or incidents and take required action.

The shift pattern varies depending on the site request.

09:00 to 21:00, 05:00 to 17:00 & 20:00 to 08:00

Job Overview

A Security Officer protects the safety of the premises while providing support, direction, and information to all employees, visitors, and contractors.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Increase site security by keeping a constant presence across the facility
• Monitor alarms, protect the site against unlawful access and perform routine security equipment tests
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed while controlling the staff, visitors and contractors' access to the premises
• Record and report any hazards and unsafe working practices
• Where necessary, you will need to undertake the necessary legal restraints and control in a professional manner
• Complete daily reports of any accidents or incidents and ensure the necessary action is taken

• A valid CCTV Licence (Preferred)
• Driving Licence

• Five-year checkable employment history, or be able to produce documentary evidence of any period of unemployment
• Be reliable and trustworthy
• Good customer service skills
• Fluent in written and spoken English
