Job summary

Anchor Group Services is seeking an experienced Security Officer for Balaena Tyne in Newcastle. The role involves maintaining site security, patrolling, managing gatehouse access, and delivering a professional and approachable service to employees, contractors and visitors.

You will work a 6 on 3 off shift pattern (6:00-18:00) on a zero hour contract, with an hourly pay of £13.00. A frontline SIA licence is required and strong observation and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Full 5-year employment history
• Valid frontline SIA licence - DS or SG
• Previous security experience
• Flexible to meet job requirements
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Responsibilities

• Protecting client property, people and assets by following site procedures
• Managing gatehouse operations and acting as first point of contact for employees, contractors, visitors, and drivers
• Signing visitors in/out and maintaining gatehouse records
• Controlling access and ensuring authorisation of visitors, contractors and vehicles
• Conducting regular site patrols and reporting security risks or incidents
• Completing reports by recording observations and surveillance activities
• Responding appropriately to incidents and escalating as needed
• Maintaining professional conduct and customer-focused service at all times
