Job summary

GCHQ is seeking a proactive Security Officer in the UK. You’ll be the first point of contact for visitors and staff, monitor access, and help keep the building and people safe. You may patrol on foot or by vehicle, respond to alarms, and provide first aid as required, always following security procedures.

You'll join a supportive, experienced team and develop your skills within the UK Intelligence Agencies, with opportunities for progression. A strong customer-service mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Security or customer service experience interacting daily with visitors and staff.
• English Language GCSE at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent experience.
• Full driving licence for foot and vehicle patrols.
• Basic IT and Microsoft Office skills to support incident logging.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and staff entering sites.
• Monitor CCTV and control access to buildings.
• Carry out or supervise foot and vehicle patrols.
• Respond to alarms and incidents and log details.
• Provide first aid as needed while following procedures.
