Job summary

Eldon Square is seeking a security officer on a permanent 40-hour contract to patrol and protect a busy shopping centre in Newcastle. You will provide a highly visible security presence, assist retailers and the public, and report incidents with accuracy and professionalism.

Ideal candidates have 2 years of security experience, a valid frontline SIA license, and a strong customer-service mindset. Rolling shift pattern offers 24/7 coverage across the site.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly patrolling your allocated area of the centre
• Providing a visible security presence
• Assisting and liaising with retailers

• Opening and securing the centre
• Carrying out basic first aid duties
• Reacting to any security incidents in a prompt and professional manner
• Clearly communicating with colleagues and the control room
• Deterring crime and disorder
• Follow health and safety procedures.
• Take part in any relevant training.
• Accurately complete incident reports

Purpose of the Role

At Eldon Square, our security officers play a vital role in providing a friendly, safe and welcoming destination for our customers and retailers. Often the first people our customers will see, we are looking for somebody who delivers exceptional customer service and who has a positive attitude and friendly demeanour. This is a permanent 40-hour contract. Your duties will include carrying out a range of security activities, including patrolling our centre, liaising with retail staff, assisting members of the public, completing detailed and accurate incident reports and offering a highly visible, highly professional security presence. You will be expected to be available to work on a rolling shift pattern which offers 24/7, 365 coverage to our site.
