Job summary

GCHQ in the United Kingdom is seeking a Security Officer based in Bude. You will be the first point of contact for people entering our buildings, monitor access and CCTV, and respond to alarms while maintaining clear incident logs in line with policy.

Applicants must be a British citizen with a full UK driving licence, basic IT and Microsoft Office skills, and English GCSE grade C/4 or above. Fixed shift patterns apply; flexible remote working isn’t available.

Qualifications

• English Language GCSE at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
• Basic IT and Microsoft Office skills to support incident logging.
• Security experience or background in military, police, prison or protective services is valued.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to commute to assigned shift times.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for people entering our buildings.
• Monitor CCTV and oversee building access in the Security Control Room.
• Carry out physical searches, patrolling on foot or in vehicles; respond to alarms.
• Keep clear, accurate incident logs and follow security policies.
