Job summary

Amulet in Reading is seeking a Security Officer to join our team. You will deliver excellent customer service to clients and visitors, manage access control, and respond to incidents across sites.

The successful candidate will hold a current SIA licence, be well-presented, and able to communicate clearly in English. This role offers a 4-on/4-off shift pattern and a pay rate of £12.72 per hour.

Qualifications

• Current SIA Licence is required.
• CCTV Operator Licence desirable.
• First Aid at Work and/or Fire Marshal desirable.
• 5-year checkable employment history for vetting.

THE ROLE:

A great opportunity has arisen for a Security Officer to join our team in Reading. We are seeking an experienced, presentable, and articulate Security officer who is able to deliver excellent customer service to both the client and the customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Control of access and egress of sites
• Cover security desk, Security Control Room and Gatehouse
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors and addressing their inquiries or concerns
• Deal with any incidents
• Enforce security policies and procedures to prevent unauthorized access or activities
• Monitor and patrol assigned areas to ensure the safety and security of the premises
• Deal with contractors Issue and manages passes
• Maintain accurate records of incidents and activities

SKILLS:

• You are capable of dealing with a variety of situations and are very customer service focused.
• You can communicate clearly and effectively, attaining a good standard of verbal and written English.
• You have good organisational and record-keeping skills.
• You must be IT literate and able to use Microsoft Office applications.
• You are always well-presented.

LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• You must have a current SIA Licence.
• A CCTV Operator Licence is desirable.
• Possession of a First Aid at Work Certificate and/or Fire Marshal is desirable.

INTERVIEW REQUIREMENTS:

• Eligibility documents needed at interview: Passport or Full Birth Certificate; Utility Bill showing current address and dated within 3 months; Proof of National Insurance (Payslips cannot be used) such as NI card, P45, P60, benefits or HMRC letter.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• You must be able to provide a checkable 5-year employment and address history for vetting purposes (this can include full-time education or periods when claiming benefits).
