Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a professional Retail Security Officer to join our team at the Decathlon store in Sheffield. You’ll provide a highly visible security presence, protect people and property, and deliver excellent customer service.

The role is 33 hours per week with a fixed Thursday, Friday and Saturday pattern from 09:00 to 20:00. A valid SIA licence and security experience are essential, with training and progression opportunities available through Mitie.

What You'll Be Doing

Security Operations

• Providing a highly visible security presence across the site.
• Conducting internal and external patrols.
• Managing access control and visitor procedures.
• Monitoring site activity and responding to incidents appropriately.
• Maintaining accurate records and completing incident reports.
• Following site assignment instructions and operational procedures.
• Supporting emergency response procedures when required.
• Working closely with site management and the wider security team to ensure the highest standards are maintained.

Health & Safety

• Identifying and reporting potential hazards and security risks.
• Ensuring compliance with site policies and procedures.
• Responding confidently and professionally to incidents and emergencies.
• Promoting a safe working environment for all site users.

Training & Development

• Completing all mandatory training and competency requirements.
• Taking ownership of your professional development.
• Maintaining an up-to-date SIA licence and relevant certifications.
• Learning new skills and embracing opportunities for career progression.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Valid SIA Licence

Desirable
