Job summary

B&M Retail Limited in Middleton is seeking a confident, professional Retail Security Officer to safeguard people, products and the store while delivering a welcoming customer experience. This full-time, permanent role offers daytime, evening and weekend shifts to suit variety in a busy store environment.

You’ll work with the Store Management Team to prevent loss, manage risk and maintain high safety standards, reporting incidents and supporting a positive customer journey.

Are you a confident and professional Retail Security Officer? Do you enjoy safeguarding people, products, and store environments while delivering a welcoming customer experience?

Join our team in Middleton and make a real difference!

In this role, you’ll be trusted with responsibility and play a vital role in safeguarding the store. Working closely with the Store Management Team, you’ll help prevent loss, manage risk and maintain high standards of safety and professionalism.

This is a full-time, permanent role with flexibility to work across daytime, evening and weekend shifts - ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility and being an integral part of the store team.

What you’ll be doing

• Actively monitoring the store to identify, prevent and report incidents
• Operating and reviewing CCTV systems in line with company policies
• Supporting the enforcement of Health & Safety procedures
• Conducting investigations into stock loss, theft and fraud
• Engaging with customers and colleagues to resolve situations calmly and effectively

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who is alert, calm under pressure and confident in their approach, with a strong sense of responsibility and a customer-first mindset. Similar security experience isn’t essential, but the key skills and behaviours required include:
