Job summary

B&M Retail Limited in Colchester is hiring a full-time Retail Security Officer to safeguard people, products and the store environment while delivering welcoming service. You will work with the Store Management Team and provide a visible safety presence across daytime, evening and weekend shifts.

You will monitor incidents, review CCTV, enforce safety procedures, investigate loss and engage customers and colleagues with professionalism and calm communication.

Are you a confident and professional Retail Security Officer? Do you enjoy safeguarding people, products, and store environments while delivering a welcoming customer experience?

Join our team in Colchester and make a real difference!

In this role, you’ll be trusted with responsibility and play a vital role in safeguarding the store. Working closely with the Store Management Team, you’ll help prevent loss, manage risk and maintain high standards of safety and professionalism.

This is a full-time, permanent role with flexibility to work across daytime, evening and weekend shifts - ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility and being an integral part of the store team.

What you’ll be doing

• Actively monitoring the store to identify, prevent and report incidents
• Operating and reviewing CCTV systems in line with company policies
• Supporting the enforcement of Health & Safety procedures
• Conducting investigations into stock loss, theft and fraud
• Engaging with customers and colleagues to resolve situations calmly and effectively
