Job summary

B&M Retail in Colchester invites applications for a Retail Security Officer role. This full-time, permanent position covers day, evening and weekend shifts to support a safe, welcoming store environment.

You’ll monitor the store, operate CCTV, enforce safety procedures and assist with investigations while engaging customers and colleagues in a calm, professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Support Health & Safety procedures and policies.
• Conduct investigations into stock loss, theft and fraud.
• Engage with customers and colleagues to resolve situations calmly and effectively.

Are you a confident and professional Retail Security Officer? Do you enjoy safeguarding people, products, and store environments while delivering a welcoming customer experience?

In this role, you’ll be trusted with responsibility and play a vital role in safeguarding the store. Working closely with the Store Management Team, you’ll help prevent loss, manage risk and maintain high standards of safety and professionalism.

This is a full-time, permanent role with flexibility to work across daytime, evening and weekend shifts - ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility and being an integral part of the store team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Actively monitoring the store to identify, prevent and report incidents
• Operating and reviewing CCTV systems in line with company policies
• Supporting the enforcement of Health & Safety procedures
• Conducting investigations into stock loss, theft and fraud
• Engaging with customers and colleagues to resolve situations calmly and effectively
