Job summary

4Way Recruitment Ltd represents a client in Leicestershire seeking a Security Install & Service Engineer for local work across intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and some fire alarm systems.

The role involves installation, servicing and fault finding on domestic, commercial and industrial sites with a rota for on-call duties, and a company van provided for work use.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an intruder alarm engineer with servicing and fault-finding capability.
• Good working knowledge of CCTV and access control systems.
• Some experience with fire alarm systems would be advantageous.
• Comfortable working across domestic, commercial and industrial sites.
• Able to diagnose technical faults and implement effective repairs.
• Good customer-facing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and fault find on intruder alarm systems, plus CCTV, access control, intercoms and some fire alarm systems.
• Carry out planned servicing, reactive maintenance and fault diagnosis at domestic, commercial and industrial sites.
• Attend emergency call-outs as part of a weekly rota.
• Complete installation work from small to large projects with potential for extra hours.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation after completed works.
• Provide a professional service to customers and build positive on-site relationships.
• Identify further works or system requirements and communicate these to the team.
• Maintain company equipment and tools in good working order.

About Our Customer

Our customer is an established independent fire and security contractor serving domestic, commercial and industrial customers across Leicestershire. Their engineering operation covers installation, servicing, maintenance and fault finding across intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, intercoms and some fire alarm systems.

Salary and Benefits - Security Install & Service Engineer

• Basic salary up to £41,000 depending on experience.


• Overtime available, including on larger installation projects.


• Standby payment of £81.30 for each week on the call-out rota.


• 20 days' holiday plus 8 bank holidays.


• Company van provided for work use.


• Power tools supplied.


• Predominantly local work across Leicestershire.


• Additional payment for the Monday morning office start, with engineers attending at 07:30.

Key Responsibilities - Install & Service Security Engineer

• Install, service and fault find on intruder alarm systems, with additional work across CCTV, access control, intercoms and some fire alarm systems.


• Carry out planned servicing, reactive maintenance and fault diagnosis across domestic, commercial and industrial sites.


• Attend emergency call-outs when required as part of a one-week-in-eight rota.


• Complete installation work ranging from smaller projects through to larger jobs where additional hours may be available.


• Diagnose technical faults methodically and complete appropriate remedial work.


• Maintain accurate service records and documentation following completed works.


• Provide a professional service to customers and build positive working relationships on site.


• Identify further works or system requirements where appropriate and communicate these to the wider team.


• Maintain company equipment and tools in good working condition.


• Support colleagues and contribute to an efficient engineering service.

Skills and experience - Install & Service Security Engineer

• Previous experience as an intruder alarm engineer, with strong servicing and fault-finding capability.


• Good working knowledge of CCTV and access control systems.


• Some experience with fire alarm systems would be advantageous.


• Comfortable working across predominantly domestic sites, with additional commercial and industrial work.


• Able to diagnose technical faults logically and complete effective repairs.


• Good customer-facing and communication skills.


• Able to work independently while keeping the office informed of progress and any issues.


• Organised approach to service records, job documentation and time management.


• Full UK driving licence.


• Must be based in Leicestershire due to the predominantly local nature of the work.
