Serco is seeking a Security Guard for the Defence Skynet team in Corsham. You will help protect secure communications supporting the UK Government and Armed Forces, ensuring a safe and controlled on-site environment.

Salary: £28,832.74 per annum plus 12% flexibility allowance (total £32,292.66) plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Permanent, full time, 43 hours per week (rostered 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off)

As a Security Guard in our Serco Defence Skynet team, you’ll play a vital role in protecting secure communications that support the UK Government and Armed Forces, helping to keep critical services running safely and effectively.
Working on the prestigious Skynet 5 contract, you’ll be part of a trusted team delivering secure satellite communication services. Your work will directly contribute to national security, ensuring a safe, controlled environment while supporting colleagues, visitors, and operations on site.
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
