Job summary

Serco is seeking a Security Guard on the TCS contract at MOD Oakhanger. You’ll contribute to protecting a high‑security site, assist with safeguarding people, information and infrastructure, and support safe, uninterrupted operations through vigilance and professional service.

Responsibilities

• Act as a first line of defence in support of the TCS site mission.
• Carry out foot and vehicle patrols, escort duties, and vehicle and bag searches.
• Operate security systems including CCTV, intrusion detection systems and entry control.
• Issue and receive keys and site passes, maintaining accurate records.
• Complete reports and maintain the Daily Occurrence Log.
• Work closely with colleagues and external agencies to uphold site security.

Schedule: 6 FTC/FT/Shift-based role - 2 days (06.30am-18:30pm), 2 nights (18:30-06:30am) and 4 days off

As a Security Guard on the TCS contract at MOD Oakhanger, you’ll play a vital role in protecting a high‑security site. Your work helps keep people, information and infrastructure safe – contributing to trust, security and positive impact every day. This hands‑on role requires vigilance, care and professionalism. By maintaining site integrity and delivering a strong customer‑focused service, you’ll help ensure operations run safely, securely and without disruption.

What You’ll Do

• Act as a first line of defence in support of the TCS site mission

Requirements

Security Vetting

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance – verifying identity, employment history, nationality and criminal record to meet government security standards. Formal Security Clearance such as CTC or SC may be required, which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record and financial history. UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. The role also requires completion of an Occupational Health Questionnaire.
