Job summary

BT Group in Birmingham is seeking a Customer Solutions Design Manager to lead a team that designs secure, end-to-end technical solutions for critical government programmes. You will work closely with customers, technical teams and senior stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical designs, while shaping technical design standards and advancing our modernisation agenda.

This role operates on a hybrid basis with 3 days in the office and 2 days at home and requires eligibility for

• Proven ability to lead technical professionals in complex environments.
• Strong relationships with customers and senior stakeholders.
• Experience overseeing design delivery with governance and cost awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a Technical Design team with clear direction and growth.
• Deliver end-to-end technical designs aligned to architecture and governance.
• Build trusted relationships with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Drive design assurance through peer reviews and governance.
• Improve processes, tooling, and resource/cost planning.
