Job summary

BT Group is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to join a fast-paced, security-focused engineering team in the UK. You will design, build and operate secure cloud platforms with automation, supporting resilience and performance across multiple sites.

You will work with customers, architects and security specialists to deliver secure cloud solutions, while developing expertise in cloud-native technologies and infrastructure-as-code. UK DV clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS cloud platforms.
• Designing, deploying, supporting or improving cloud-based infrastructure and services.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code approaches and automation tooling.
• Understanding of cloud networking, security and operational best practices.
• Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues within modern infrastructure environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Effective communication skills to explain technical concepts to varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and support secure cloud platforms and services using modern engineering and automation practices.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code, configuration management and deployment automation to improve consistency, scalability and delivery speed.
• Collaborate with customers, architects, security specialists and engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver secure cloud solutions.
• Support the operation, monitoring and continual improvement of cloud platforms, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment and operational issues and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Contribute to cloud security, risk management and compliance activities, ensuring security by design.
• Share knowledge, support peer reviews and contribute to engineering standards and communities.
• Mentor and support less experienced engineers while developing team capability.
