Job summary

NRL Recruitment is seeking a Section Engineer for a major UK power infrastructure project in the East of England. This site-based role suits a civil engineer with strong setting-out and technical experience, delivering essential upgrades that shape the country’s energy future.

The role is full-time and not hybrid or remote. Attendance at 7.15am briefings is required, with travel between Bury St Edmunds, Norwich, Bramford and Tilbury as part of the project.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Site Engineer, Section Engineer or similar.
  • Proficiency in setting out and engineering control.
  • Civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, highways or major projects background.
  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • Qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to pass a DBS check.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure works.
  • Set out and manage engineering control across fronts.
  • Coordinate site engineering activities and support construction teams.
  • Ensure QA processes, inspections and documentation meet standards.
  • Produce and manage engineering reports and digital records.
  • Support work packages including earthworks, drainage, structures, piling, roads and substation infra.
  • Collaborate with senior team to meet delivery targets.
  • Promote health, safety and environmental performance on site.
