Job summary

NRL Recruitment is seeking an experienced Section Engineer for a major UK power infrastructure project in the East of England. This site-based role requires setting out, engineering control, and delivery of diverse civil works, with travel between Bury St Edmunds, Norwich, Bramford and Tilbury.

You will join a team delivering essential upgrades for the country’s energy future, ensuring QA, reporting, and safe on-site practices.

Qualifications

Prior experience as Site Engineer or Section Engineer.
Proficiency in setting out and engineering control.
Background in civil engineering or major construction projects.
Valid CSCS Card.
Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Ability to pass a DBS check.

Responsibilities

Support the safe and successful delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure works.
Undertake setting out and engineering control duties across multiple work fronts.
Coordinate site engineering activities and provide technical support to construction teams.
Ensure quality assurance processes, inspections, and documentation meet project standards.
Produce and manage engineering reports and digital records.
Support work packages including earthworks, drainage, structures, piling, roads and substation infrastructure.
Collaborate with senior team members and project management to ensure delivery targets are met.
Promote high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance on site.
