Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Section Engineer for our Regional Civils team in the North West. You will support delivery of your section, manage engineering aspects, and provide technical guidance on site.

You will review drawings, coordinate with multiple stakeholders and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence. The role offers progression within a leading infrastructure business and includes benefits such as flexible working where possible and a strong emphasis on health and safety and

Qualifications

• BSc/HND in Civil Engineering required.
• Experience as Section/Site Engineer in civil/construction.
• Experience on infrastructure, highways, earthworks or structures.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs; setting out.
• Strong communication and organisational skills; proactive problem solving.
• Good understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support Site Agent and Project Manager in delivering your section of works.
• Manage engineering and technical aspects of construction activities.
• Set out and provide technical guidance to site teams.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information for correct delivery.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, designers and stakeholders.
• Ensure works are delivered to programme, budget and quality requirements.
• Complete and maintain inspection and test plans and quality records.
• Identify technical issues and develop effective solutions.
