Job summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking a Section Engineer to drive engineering excellence on major highways schemes across the North East. You will own setting out, coordinate site activities, manage technical compliance and support project teams to hit programme and performance targets.

This role offers the chance to contribute to high-profile infrastructure projects within a leading UK contractor, with development opportunities in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with permit-to-work systems and site safety controls.
• Experience coordinating site activities to meet programme milestones.
• Strong communication and teamwork across delivery, commercial and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Leading complex setting out activities across highways and civil works.
• Establishing and maintaining primary setting out control and verification points.
• Coaching and supporting Site Engineers and junior team members.
• Producing and managing Activity Control Plans to meet quality requirements.
• Using project specifications and drawings to ensure compliance.
• Maintaining quality records and inspections.
