Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is looking for a Section Engineer to join the Regional Civils team in the North West, delivering high-quality civil engineering works across the region. You will support the Site Agent and Project Manager, plan and coordinate activities and ensure safe, efficient delivery to programme and budget.

The role requires a degree in civil engineering, experience as a Section/Site Engineer, setting out and surveying, and the ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• BSc/HND in Civil Engineering.
• Experience as Section Engineer or Site Engineer.
• Experience on infrastructure/highways projects.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Strong communication and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Support Site Agent and Project Manager in delivery.
• Manage engineering and technical aspects of construction.
• Set out and provide technical guidance to site teams.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, designers and other project stakeholders.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme, budget and quality requirements.
• Complete and maintain inspection and test plans, quality records and other relevant documentation.
• Identify technical issues and work collaboratively to develop solutions.
