Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Section Engineer to join a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering wastewater and water treatment projects in the Lancashire/Bolton area. You will support the Senior Engineer, coordinate site engineers, and drive safe, on-time delivery of designated sections.

The role focuses on earthworks, deep drainage and temporary works, with BIM and digital delivery at the forefront. A Civil Engineering degree and UK driving licence are preferred, and a daily rate up to £525

Qualifications

• Experience as a Section Engineer or Senior Site Engineer within a Tier 1 contractor.
• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline (preferred).
• Experience delivering large civil projects involving earthworks, deep drainage and temporary works.
• Experience managing engineering teams and coordinating multiple fronts.
• Proficiency with BIM and digital engineering systems.

Responsibilities

• Support Senior Engineer in delivery of wastewater/water treatment project sections.
• Lead and coordinate site engineers, provide technical guidance and ensure safety and programme.
• Oversee earthworks, deep drainage, temporary works and reinforced concrete activities.
• Review drawings/specifications and resolve engineering queries with design team.
• Ensure QA, inspections, site documentation per project requirements.
• Promote BIM and digital engineering platforms across the project.
• Collaborate with Project Manager, commercial team and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Engineer in the successful delivery of designated sections of wastewater and water treatment projects.
• Lead and coordinate Site Engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring engineering activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
• Oversee engineering activities including large earthworks, deep drainage, temporary works and reinforced concrete construction.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information, resolving engineering queries and coordinating with the design team where required.
• Ensure quality assurance procedures, inspections and site documentation are completed in accordance with project requirements.
• Promote the use of BIM, digital engineering platforms and innovative construction technologies across the project.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, commercial team and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Section Engineer, Senior Site Engineer or similar within a Tier 1 contractor environment.
• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
• Strong experience delivering large civil engineering projects involving earthworks, deep drainage and temporary works.
• Experience managing engineering teams and coordinating multiple work fronts.
• Technically competent with BIM, digital engineering systems and modern construction technologies.
• Water or wastewater experience is desirable.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
