Job summary

Adecco is seeking a talented Engineer for a growing team in Durrington, West Sussex. You will work on water and wastewater projects, delivering technical expertise and innovative engineering solutions that support critical UK water infrastructure.

Join a multidisciplinary team to produce design deliverables, perform data analysis and QA checks, and help mentor Graduate and Assistant Engineers while contributing to safe, efficient project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree or equivalent (BEng, MEng, BSc, or HNC).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience in the UK water and/or wastewater industry.
• Strong grasp of engineering principles relevant to the discipline.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Engineer

Location: Durrington, West Sussex

Salary: £53,000 per annum

We are seeking a talented Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Durrington, West Sussex. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of water and wastewater projects, providing technical expertise and delivering innovative engineering solutions that support critical infrastructure across the UK water industry.

Working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in producing high-quality design deliverables, solving complex engineering challenges, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

This role is ideal for an engineer with water industry experience who is looking to further develop their technical expertise while contributing to meaningful and sustainable infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support on water and wastewater projects.


• Produce and review engineering calculations, reports, drawings and technical documentation.


• Gather, analyse and interpret data to support design development.


• Assist Principal and Senior Engineers in managing and coordinating projects.


• Undertake quality assurance checks on technical deliverables.

About You

Essential

• Degree (BEng, MEng, BSc) or HNC in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related numerate scientific discipline.


• Full UK driving licence.


• Experience working within the UK water and/or wastewater industry.


• Strong understanding of engineering principles relevant to your discipline.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.


• Excellent communication and presentation skills.


• Ability to work independently and use initiative to solve technical challenges.

Desirable

• Professional membership of a relevant engineering institution, or actively working towards chartered/incorporated status.


• Experience in water or wastewater design.


• Knowledge of asset management practices within the water sector.
