Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting motivated Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools across Calderdale. The role involves classroom support, one-to-one and small-group sessions, and helping students overcome learning barriers.

The position requires an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and a genuine passion for helping young people develop. Flexible working options and ongoing CPD are available through Protocol Education.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Positive, professional, and adaptable approach.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people's development.
• An Enhanced DBS Certificate on the DBS Update Service is a mandatory requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to teachers and students across a range of subjects.
• Deliver focused one-to-one and small group support sessions.
• Assist students in overcoming barriers to learning.
• Support students with SEND, SEMH, and additional learning needs when required.
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and attendance.
• Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
