Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistants to support learners across Key Stages 3 and 4 in Halifax. This role offers flexible full-time or part-time opportunities, temporary and long-term placements, and a supportive consultant to guide you.

You will work with teachers to support learning in small groups or one-to-one settings, helping create an inclusive and safe environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in schools, education, sports coaching, youth work, care, or mentoring roles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, adaptable and enthusiastic.
• Degree or relevant qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Genuine passion for supporting secondary-aged students.

Protocol Education is currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistants to work across a range of secondary schools in Halifax. We are looking for individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on students' learning and development.

The Role

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Work with small groups or on a one-to-one basis to support learning
• Assist students with additional learning needs
• Encourage positive behaviour and classroom engagement
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
• Provide pastoral support where required

The Ideal Candidate

We are keen to hear from candidates who:

• Have experience working with young people in schools, education, sports coaching, youth work, care, or mentoring roles
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Are patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic
• Hold a degree or relevant qualification (desirable but not essential)
