Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Secondary school based in Wigan. They are seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to work 1-1 with pupils who requires additional learning support. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for supporting young people in their early academic development.

The role:

• Start-date: 2^nd June
• Ongoing/long-term with opportunity for permanent contract in September
• School is in a great location with excellent transport links across the Wigan area

As a 1-1 Teaching Assistant, you will support the individuals in mainstream classes as well as small groups or 1-1 support in specific subject areas. This may include specific, targeted interventions in core subjects or just general behaviour support when students are struggling in mainstream classes. You will be working with students across KS3 and KS4 all with differing needs, requiring you to communicate effectively with other members of staff.

What we’re looking for:

• Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
• Experience working with young people in any setting is essential for this role
• Good knowledge of current behaviour management techniques
• Positive and enthusiastic attitude towards assisting young pupils
• Safeguarding training (must be done upon registering with Teaching Personnel)
