Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEND support worker in Plymouth to help secondary students with learning disabilities. You will work within the school's SEND unit and support lessons across the school, ensuring students stay engaged and supported throughout the day.

Applicants should be confident, resilient, patient and able to establish clear boundaries. Previous SEND or school experience is desirable; DBS and compliance checks will apply.

Job Details

Location: Plymouth

Pay: £93–£98 per day

Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8.30am–3.30pm

Start: ASAP

Role

• Supporting secondary-aged students with learning disabilities and SEND


• Working within the school's dedicated SEND unit


• Providing support in lessons across the school


• Helping students stay engaged, focused and supported throughout the school day


• Building positive and trusting relationships with students


• Supporting behaviour and helping students manage challenges appropriately


• Setting clear, consistent boundaries while maintaining a calm and positive approach


• Working closely with teachers and the wider support team

Looking For

• Experienced working with children or vulnerable adults


• Confident, resilient and patient


• Comfortable supporting students with additional needs


• Able to establish clear and consistent boundaries


• Calm and confident when managing challenging situations


• Positive, approachable and able to build strong relationships


• A reliable team player who is committed to supporting students to achieve their potential


• Previous experience within a school or SEND environment is desirable, but relevant transferable experience working with children or vulnerable adults will also be considered.
