Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome challenges and succeed in education? We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students in Key Stage 4 in a mainstream secondary college. Working alongside teachers and fellow support staff colleagues, you will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop confidence, display positive learning behaviours and engage positively with school life.

Key Information

• Pay: £14.25 - £16.50 p/h
• Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (30 minute lunch break)
• Start Date: As soon as possible (September 2026)

Your responsibilities will include

• Supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
• Promoting and encouraging positive learning behaviours
• Assisting with classroom activities and learning tasks
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development
• Helping to create a calm, structured, and nurturing environment

About the School

• This secondary college - near Newton Abbot - supports students aged 11-16 who have chosen courses linked to science mechanics and engineering.
• Some pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to provide additional funding for support to meet their needs.
