Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Wirral secondary schools. The role involves assisting teachers, supporting groups and individuals, and aiding pupils with SEND to stay engaged in class.

Ideal candidates will have experience with secondary-aged pupils, strong communication and behaviour-management skills, and a patient, adaptable approach. DBS check enhancement may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a secondary school setting.
• Positive, patient and adaptable approach to education.
• Confident supporting pupils with a range of abilities and learning needs.
• Willingness to obtain/enhance DBS check as required.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons.
• Work with small groups and individuals to reinforce learning.
• Provide one-to-one support for pupils as needed.
• Support pupils with SEND (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, etc.).
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

The Role

• Has experience working with children or young people, ideally in a secondary school setting.

• Is confident supporting pupils with a range of abilities and learning needs.
• Has excellent communication and behaviour-management skills.
• Is passionate about education and helping young people succeed.
• Holds, or is willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS check, subject to the relevant requirements.
