Job summary

Smile Education is seeking a Qualified Teacher to join a large, supportive generic special school in the Tamworth area on a full-time, ongoing basis, starting as soon as possible. The school serves students aged 11–19 with EHCPs and offers a nurturing learning environment.

We welcome both primary- and secondary-trained teachers with SEND experience who can deliver differentiated lessons, manage behaviour, and work with Teaching Assistants to help every pupil succeed.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• SEND teaching experience required.
• Ability to commit to a full-time ongoing role.
• Enhanced DBS current or willingness to apply.
• Satisfactory references and safeguarding checks completed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across a variety of subjects.
• Adapt teaching to EHCP outcomes and individual needs.
• Establish positive relationships and promote pupil confidence and engagement.
• Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants and school team to support pupils.
• Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and support ongoing development.
