Job summary

Cover People are recruiting for a Secondary SEND Teacher – Autism at a specialist school in Oldham. The role is full-time and long-term with potential to become permanent, starting September 2026.

You will plan differentiated lessons for pupils with Autism, work with TAs and therapists, monitor progress toward EHCP targets, and contribute to school life while maintaining a calm, inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with QTS or QTLS or equivalent.
• Experience supporting pupils with autism or SEND.
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse needs.
• Collaborates with TAs, therapists and other professionals.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons tailored to pupils with autism.
• Plan differentiated activities to support progress and development.
• Monitor pupil progress and EHCP targets.
• Maintain a calm, structured, inclusive classroom environment.
• Work with Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff and therapists to provide consistent support.
• Contribute to meetings, training and school activities.
