Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a secondary SEND provision in Wembley, Brent. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEND, including Autism and ADHD, supporting differentiation and behaviour strategies.

The role requires a patient, calm and adaptable approach, with strong communication to work with teachers and the SENDCo to foster independence and social skills among students.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an LSA/Teaching Assistant or SEND Support Worker.
• Experience supporting secondary-aged students with additional learning needs.
• Good understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH and behaviour support strategies.
• Calm, patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people with SEND.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to secondary-aged students with SEND.
• Support students with Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and additional needs.
• Assist teachers with delivering differentiated learning activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation and student engagement.
• Support students in developing independence, confidence and social skills.
• Work closely with teachers, the SENDCo and other support staff.
• Help create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
