Job summary

Protocol Education are recruiting for a Secondary SEN Teacher to work within a specialist education setting in Sunderland.

This Full Time role is term time only with school hours, start date ASAP and a competitive salary (£31,650-£51,048 per annum PAYE) dependent on experience and qualifications. You will plan engaging lessons, support pupils with SEND and help develop literacy, numeracy and life skills.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification is required.
• Experience adapting lessons for diverse needs.
• Passionate about SEND and supporting pupils.
• Calm and approachable with clear boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging secondary lessons.

Hours: Monday-Friday, school hours

Pay: £31,650-£51,048 per annum / PAYE, dependent on experience and qualifications

This role would suit a teacher who enjoys working with secondary-aged pupils and wants to combine academic teaching with personal development and preparation for life beyond school.

The Role

You will:

• Plan and deliver engaging secondary lessons
• Adapt the curriculum to meet individual needs
• Support pupils with a range of SEND
• Develop literacy, numeracy and wider life skills
• Encourage independence and confidence
• Manage classroom behaviour positively
• Monitor and assess pupil progress

• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff
