Job summary

Witherslack Group is seeking a dedicated Secondary Maths Teacher to help pupils aged 11-16. You will teach across the National Curriculum in small classes of 6–8 pupils, tailoring lessons to individual needs and GCSE readiness.

The role emphasizes resilience, commitment and celebrating student progress. You will join a supportive team with in-house psychologists, teaching assistants and therapy professionals, all aimed at enabling each pupil to thrive and achieve positive academic and personal

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status required.
• Experience teaching Maths in secondary education.

You’ll be working with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You’ll be there to help them learn, develop their abilities and raise their self‑esteem. You will need to be resilient and dedicated, but those huge small victories that you achieve will be something you’re really proud of.

As a Secondary Maths Teacher, you’ll teach the National Curriculum across all secondary levels, adapting your lessons to meet the individual needs, abilities and starting points of each pupil. You’ll teach classes of a maximum of 6–8 pupils, giving you the opportunity to really get to know your young people and understand how they learn best.

You’ll plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons across the secondary curriculum, supporting pupils to develop their mathematical knowledge, problem‑solving skills and confidence. Whether you’re teaching foundational concepts or preparing pupils for their GCSEs, you’ll be able to tailor your approach and provide the individual support each young person needs to make progress.

Our small class sizes mean you can move away from a one‑size‑fits‑all approach. You’ll have the time to adapt your teaching, revisit concepts where needed and find creative ways to make Maths accessible and engaging for every pupil. One of the best environments in SEND Hilden Park school is a purpose built, brand new, state of the art school, catering primarily for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger’s and Speech, Language and Communication needs.
